In short, try to cut 'em some slack and see if they apologize before you just TK them. Apart from that, this happens all the time when people's fingers slip, or if they're Alt-Tabbing between windows and it fires by accident, or they're trying to set up weapon groupings and accidentally hit \ when they mean to hit Backspace (backspace is the Chain Fire toggle, \ is Alpha Strike). I highly, HIGHLY, doubt that the vast majority of these people are actually doing this on purpose.įirst off, a lot of newer players don't even realize that there is Friendly Fire in this game and do it without realizing that it causes damage. They usually take a Timberwolf or a Nova to do it since they have huge alpha strike ability.

Usually, even after people turn around to kill him before he kills you, you get negative XP and c-bills plus then you're down one mech AND either have 1 or 2 people dead or severely crippled too. Griefers are the people at the start of the game that wait a second for you to walk past them so they can Alpha strike you in the rear center torso. Internets and IP adressess are hard? Do you even know how this works? Ban IP, ban IP, ban IP, ban all 4.3 billion of the legit IPv4 adresses, and I will be back in seconds with a diff addy. Is this too hard to put into the game? I have seen many other forums/games ban IP addresses. And if they grief you, then you can ban their IP address and they can't make any more account. If your IP address shifts every 5 minutes, you know they're using a ghost address.

I say, to log into the game you need a valid IP address that is linked to your account. So, banning griefer accounts is all but worthless.

They just make up a free account, use a trial mech, get their account banned and then just turn around and make a new account again. I ask the team to report them and maybe they do or they don't but what good is it? About 1 in 10-15 matches, there's always a griefer on my team.
